I
n 1997 a small group of Brockton residents forged a community coalition to help fellow Haitians. This organization is known today as South Shore Haitians United for Progress (SHUP).

Our mission is to help Haitians adjust here in the South Shore, and to promote Haitian causes.  These causes range from better employee treatment to Immigration reforms and healthcare.

SHUP wishes to thank all of the people who attended the

Fifth Annual GALA on November 24th 2007.

Honoring Culture and Community

We would like to thank all of our sponsors, benefactors, the Mayor's Office,

The Group Bien-Etre, Artist Jean Claude Sainte, SHUP staff

and all other persons responsible for the program's success.
